Slowly progressing insight…

Regarding my previous post… crazy ideas it are. Mathematically sound stuff, but forget about anything real. Take a look at a recent work in collaboration with Arjan van der Schaft…

Crazy new ideas…

Ni Hao,

Long time ago since I posted something relevant on this page. Perhaps for a reason… duh…

Recently came up with some crazy new ideas in the context of power quality. Check out my latest work – although in a rather general setting – focus is on its way 😉 on load characterization and power conditioner synthesis using memory elements (i.e., memristors, meminductors and memcapacitors) here…

Big Horns and reactive time

From automotive back to science, lecturing and music. Currently busy recording a new Rotterdam Ska-Jazz Foundation EP entitled “Big Horns”. This time its a collaboration with the horns from the BOSCO big band. The horns did their jobs yesterday and the result defines a paradigm shift in contemporary music. Ska-Jazz anno 2036, recorded in 2016 😉

Speaking about paradigm shifts. Really exciting stuff also on the science side. Recently started a collaboration with Dr. Gerald (Gerry) Kaiser from Portland (OR). The last couple of weeks I have been indulged in reactive energy and reactive time. I wrote a little story about how I met Gerry in the “Research” section. Meanwhile, a preprint of our first fresh research fruits can be found here http://arxiv.org/pdf/1601.08207.pdf.

Updates and getting hands dirty

Just updated the “Automotive” and “Publications” sections. In the meantime working towards an engine replacement for my GT. Found a second-hand engine from a rotten 1972 GT. Internally everything seems fine, but the outside needed some attention. Many thanks to Maarten en Jelle from MB Parts Benelux for letting me use their garage space. Cheers on you guys! Looking forward to next Saturday for the engine swap.

MGB GT

Got seduced by this (harvest) golden beauty from 1973 (my birth year)… Needs some attention, but it already provides me the driving pleasure I missed for too long since I was forced to say goodbye to my beloved glacier white GT (see “Automotive” section).

ISNCC 2015

Just came back from the ISNCC in Lagow, Poland. A nice 915 km drive with the Rex. This is the type of conferences I like the most. Small group of experts in the field and many occasions to have thorough discussions in a beautiful little village just across the border with Germany. Thanks to the organisers for making this a highly successful event! Looking forward to the next edition…

On the roof of the Zamek Joannitow tower with Prof. Czarnecki, the founder of the "Czarnecki Power Concept (CPC)" AKA Currents' Physical Components.

Updates

Updated some sections on these pages: added some new publications, added a link to recent invited talks, and included some pictures. Take a look…

Currently teaching my favorite course “Modeling and Nonlinear Systems Theory (SC4092)”. Big and enthusiastic group this year. Nice!  Furthermore, I am totally indulged in studying the notion of complex Dirac structures together with Arjan van der Schaft. Hope this will additionally enlarge my toolbox to attack power resolutions problems, even beyond electrical systems 😉
